DAY CAMP OVERVIEW

START:ED

Juniors New to the Game

For juniors who are new to the game. Starting with drills and fundamentals of squash.

  • This is a key stage for developing a child’s gross motor skills including agility, coordination and rhythm

  • Sessions are game based learning with lots of movement, and always in a fun, playful environment

  • There's variety in each clinic to allow children to explore, use their imagination and be creative

  • SQUASH:ED builds players confidence by setting progressive yet attainable targets

7–10 YEARS MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 12:00–1:00PM


PROGRESS:ED

Juniors who are Progressing to Tournaments

For juniors who want to start playing tournaments and are thinking about a more tactical game plan.

  • This is a big learning phase in the development of technique, initial decision making and strategies

  • It includes further development and refining of specific motor skills at different speeds and rhythms

  • Introduction to competition, with a ratio of 80% training and 20% competition

  • Psychology plays an important role with an awareness of the effects of the mental state on performance. Key aspects are positive reinforcement and self-talk to re-focus

  • Basic short-term goal setting with practice/competition goals

10–13 YEARS MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 9:30–12:00PM


INSPIR:ED

Tournament Players

For tournament players who are developing their competitive game, have a strong understanding of technique, and want to focus on the finer tactical elements of the game.

  • Maximise strengths, based on skill acquisition to this stage

  • Technique under pressure

  • Develop tactical patterns and decision making

  • Physically increase speed and power training and introduction to increasing muscle mass

13–16 YEARS MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 2:00–4:30PM


SQUASH:ED + YALE

Yale Assistant Coach, Campbell Grayson, a 17-year veteran of the PSA World Tour with 14 titles, joins SQUASH:ED summer camp programming for 1 week only!

4.0+ RATING MORNING SESSION, 9:30AM-1:00PM

4.8+ RATING AFTERNOON SESSION, 2:00PM-5:30PM
